X, social media company, says it will shut down its operations in Brazil, following claim that a Judge on the country’s Supreme Court threatened to arrest its legal representative if the company fails to comply with its orders.
Formerly Twitter, X, said it was pulling out its remaining staff “effective immediately” though the service will still be available there.
X, which is owned by American businessman, Elon Musk, has already had a clash with the Justice in question, Alexandre de Moraes, over free speech, far right accounts and misinformation on the platform.

In April, Moraes ordered an investigation into Musk over the dissemination of defamatory fake news as well as another probe over possible obstruction, incitement and criminal organisation.
