Silicon Valley wish-list for Harris – reproductive rights, pro-tech policies

Venture Capitalists assuring support for US VP Kamala Harris’ campaign for the White House, have listed priorities via a survey released on Wednesday that encompassed women’s abortion rights, climate change and a more favorable position towards startups.

Of more than eight hundred (800) venture capitalists who signed an open letter of support, two hundred and twenty-five (225) chose to put forth their reasons for backing the Democratic Party Presidential candidate and the policies they favor in a survey.

Almost all of the 225 thought Roe v. Wade should not have been overturned by the Supreme Court. Roe v Wade recognized abortion rights; some felt this hurt women at work.

Executives and Investors said they viewed Harris, a Californian with links to Silicon Valley, as a tech-savvy candidate open to engaging with industry.

The 225 that filled the survey did so on the condition of anonymity. Some 97% wanted leaders who are “knowledgeable about technologies like AI and crypto to build effective regulations.”

Almost 92% believed the US government should hire more technology talents, according to results from the survey
